These are real pages from the book. The table of contents is the full one: 8 parts and 61 topics.

It's Not That You Can't Remember. It's That No One Put It in Order.

You've read about the basic set three times: mirror, probe, tweezers. You close your notes...

...and you can't remember which one checks a margin and which one carries the cotton roll. It was just lines of text.

Mirror, probe and tweezers drawn life-size, each with its job

Here the basic set is one page, each instrument drawn large and clear: the mirror, the probe and the tweezers, each with its name and its job.

And on the pages next to it, every instrument has its own: hand instruments for fillings, handpieces, burs, extraction forceps and the look-alikes side by side.

First you understand what each one is for. Then the names come back on their own.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE

Stop memorising charts and instruments you can't picture:

THIS
  • Pages and pages of dense text
  • Charts and instruments without a single drawing
  • In the exam, you don't know where to start
For the purposes of dental charting, the dentition is divided into four quadrants by the midline and the occlusal plane, designated the upper right, upper left, lower left and lower right. It should be noted that the chart is recorded from the operator's perspective facing the patient, so the patient's right side appears on the left-hand side of the chart. Each quadrant contains, in the permanent dentition, eight teeth numbered from the midline distally, with the central incisor designated 1 and the third molar 8.
FOR THIS
  • Every chart and instrument drawn
  • One topic per page, with the rules in boxes
  • You remember it because you've seen it
UR, UL, LL, LR: the mouth as a cross, seen facing the patient.

What If Every Topic Fit on a Single Page?

Imagine this:

Instead of rereading half a page on Palmer notation without being able to picture it...

...you open the page and find the mouth drawn as a cross: four quadrants, each tooth numbered from the midline out.

Basic set on the left, everything else in the order the dentist uses it

And instruments, materials, tray set-ups, the autoclave cycle and clinical waste become drawings and tables you can read at a glance.

You stop repeating and start understanding.

That's exactly what Dental Nursing Illustrated does. It's not “just another textbook”. It's 65 illustrated pages in 8 parts, and at the end the frequent mix-ups, chairside checklists and an exam revision map. Because what you see in order is easier to bring back.

Because what your brain sees organized, it remembers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I receive it?

Dental Nursing Illustrated arrives as a high-resolution PDF by email, at the address you enter at checkout, to read on your phone or print. The two bonus books, Exam-Style Practice Workbook: Dental Nursing and Common Chairside Mistakes: Quick-Review Cards, also arrive as PDFs by email.

Is it a monthly or a one-off payment?

A one-off payment of £19.99. No instalments and no subscription.

Who is it for?

For trainee dental nurses on the NEBDN National Diploma or a Level 3 Diploma, and for qualified dental nurses who want a visual refresh or are going back after a break. It starts from the basics, but it isn't a beginner's book: if you're already chairside, the look-alike instruments, tray cards and checklists are the pages you'll use most. It doesn't replace your course manual: it turns the same syllabus into one drawn page per topic, so you can revise it at a glance.

What sources is it based on?

The NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing curriculum, the GDC Scope of Practice and Standards for the Dental Team, HTM 01-05 on decontamination, HTM 07-01 on waste, IR(ME)R 2017 and Resuscitation Council UK guidance. HTM 01-05 is the guidance for England; Scotland and Wales have their own versions, so always follow your practice's local policy.

Is it official material?

No. It's an independent study book: it doesn't give you a certificate, CPD hours or GDC registration. The NEBDN, the GDC and HTM 01-05 are named as references for the syllabus and the guidance; they haven't produced or endorsed it.

Does it replace my course or training?

No. It's study material: it doesn't replace your diploma course, supervised practice, your tutor or the dentist's clinical judgement. It doesn't include drug doses or treatment decisions.

Are the exam-style questions the real exam questions?

No. They're written for this book and grouped by topic, to help you practise. They aren't official questions from any exam.

Can I print it?

Yes. The PDF is high resolution, so you can print the whole book or just the pages you want to keep at the practice.

What if I don't like it?

30-day guarantee: tell us what didn't work and we'll refund 100%. Just email us within 30 days of your purchase.

One Last Thing Before You Decide...

You don't have to reread the same page hoping this time it sticks.

You don't have to memorise instruments and charts you can't picture.

And you certainly don't have to walk into the exam not knowing where to start.

One last thing before you decide: you already have the notes. What's missing is seeing each topic on one page, always in the same order. 65 illustrated pages and 2 bonus books, as a PDF by email, with a 30-day guarantee.
